Four female Balb/c mice were sacrificed and skin epidermal tissues were obtained from the tail of mice, and oral epidermal tissues were obtained from the hard palate. Epithelium was separated from the dermis by 0.2% dispase treatment for 2 hrs at room temperature.

Total RNA was extracted from the whole epithelial sheets using TriZol and purified by RNeasy kit. The integrity (18S/28S) and concentrations of RNA was determined using an Experion per the manufacturer’s instruction.
