Omental adipose tissue samples were disrupted and homogenized in QIAzol lysis reagent using a tissuelyser (Qiagen Inc., Valencia, CA) and followed by chloroform extraction. The upper aqueous phase containing the RNA was processed with EZ1 RNA universal tissue kit on the EZ1 workstation following manufacturer's instructions.
