Growth protocol mice were grown at the University of Colorado vivarium on a standard laboratory chow diet
Extracted molecule total RNA
Extraction protocol the fourth mammary glands on mice were excised and the lymph nodes were removed, samples were stored in RNA Later from Qiagen according to manufacturers instructions. Total RNA was isolated using RNA easy from qiagen according to their protocol, and total RNA was examined for purity using a nanodrop and for integrity using agilent bioanalyzer.
Label biotin
Label protocol all samples were biotin labeled using the ENZO labeling kit and protocol according to affymetrix parameters beginning from 2ug of total RNA converted to cDNA
 
Hybridization protocol Hybridization protocol according to affymetrix. Following fragmentation, 15 ug of cRNA were hybridized for 16 hr at 45C on GeneChip Mu74Av2 Genome Array. GeneChips were washed and stained in the Affymetrix Fluidics Station 400.
Scan protocol Scan protocol according to affymetrix on GeneChip Scanner 3000
Description Gene expression data from mammary glands of lactating mice
Data processing Samples were evaluated for quality control parameters using Gene Chip Operating System from Affymetrix. CEL files were then imported into GeneSpring (Agilent Technologies) and processed using their native GC-RMA algorithm.
