Diethylnitrosamine (DEN; Sigma) was administered twice by intraperitoneal injections at a dose of 5 mg/kg of body weight at 14 days of age and of 75 mg/kg of body weight at 20 weeks of age. The mice were sacrifice at 15, 20, 36, and 42 weeks after treatment. Blood and liver samples were collected after the mice were sacrificed under ether anesthesia.

Male C3H/He N mice were purchased from Central Lab Animal, Inc. (Seoul, Korea), and handled according to the guidelines for the care and use of laboratory animals.
