Sample type |
RNA |
Source name |
Blood, BPH, 180 min
Organism |
Homo sapiens |
Characteristics |
Sex: Male tissue: Blood agent: BPH time point: 180 min
Extracted molecule |
total RNA |
Extraction protocol |
Blood samples were collected from an antecubital vein into PAXgene Blood RNA Tubes (Qiagen, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada) before and 180 min after each treatment. Total RNA was isolated and purified from blood samples using PAXgene Blood RNA Kit (Qiagen) according to the manufacturer's instructions..

Label |
Biotin
Label protocol |
Arrays were processed at the McGill University and Genome Quebec Innovation Centre using standard Affymetrix protocols. RNA was reverse transcribed into cDNA and in-vitro transcription was performed to generate biotin-labeled cRNA.
Hybridization protocol |
Hybridized target cRNA was stained with streptavidin phycoerythrin.
Scan protocol |
Arrays were scanned on an Agilent GeneArray Scanner (Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc.) at an excitation wavelength of 488nm.
Data processing |
Raw data were extracted from scanned images using Expression Console (v 1.4; Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc.). Robust Multiarray Analysis method was used to perform background correction and quantile normalization.
