Treatment protocol Mice were anesthetized by use of an intraperitoneal injection of avertin followed by supplementary inhalation of isoflurane. Partial hepatectomy was performed by surgical removal of 70% of the liver mass or animals underwent sham surgeries whereby animals were subjected to similar surgical conditions, however their livers were not resected but merely manipulated. Liver tissue was collected at 0, 24,38 and 48 hour(s) following surgery.
Growth protocol Male mice of the CB6F1 hybrid strain at 5-6 months of age, and at 25-27 months of age were obtained from Jackson Laboratories, and the National Institute on Aging, respectively.
Extracted molecule total RNA
Extraction protocol Total RNA was isolated using the RNeasy mini columns from Qiagen.
Label biotin
Label protocol Biotinylated cRNA were prepared according to the standard Affymetrix protocol from 5 ug total RNA.
 
Hybridization protocol Following fragmentation, 15 ug of cRNA were hybridized for 16 hr at 45C to Affymetrix GeneChip Mouse Expression Array 4302. GeneChips were washed and stained in the Affymetrix Fluidics Station 400.
Scan protocol GeneChips were scanned using the Hewlett-Packard GeneArray Scanner 3000.
Description Gene expression data from liver of 0h control young mice.
Data processing Raw signal intensites were normalized using the RMA algorithm implemented with R and BioC (justRMA function).
