Definition

A primary thymic neuroendocrine tumor characterized by a high mitotic rate, often associated with the presence of necrosis and nuclear pleomorphism. This type of neuroendocrine tumor has a more aggressive clinical course, compared to grade 1 neuroendocrine tumors. [from NCI]
