COMMENT REVIEWED REFSEQ: This record has been curated by NCBI staff. The
reference sequence was derived from U66243.2, CB123561.1, Y10487.1,
BC015741.1 and N94360.1.
On or before Aug 3, 2011 this sequence version replaced
XP_003403794.1, NP_002960.1.
Summary: Activation of members of the mitogen-activated protein
kinase family is a major mechanism for transduction of
extracellular signals. Stress-activated protein kinases are one
subclass of MAP kinases. The protein encoded by this gene functions
as a signal transducer during differentiation of myoblasts to
myotubes. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008].
Transcript Variant: This variant (1) represents the longer
transcript and encodes the longer isoform (1).
Publication Note: This RefSeq record includes a subset of the
publications that are available for this gene. Please see the Gene
record to access additional publications.
