phasin family protein
Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) are storage polyesters synthesised by various bacteria as intracellular carbon and energy reserve material. PHAs are accumulated as water-insoluble inclusions within the cells. This family consists of the phasins PhaF and PhaI which act as a transcriptional regulator of PHA biosynthesis genes. PhaF has been proposed to repress expression of the phaC1 gene and the phaIF operon [1]. [1]. 12099824.
