2-C-methyl-D-erythritol 2,4-cyclodiphosphate synthase

The ygbB protein is a putative enzyme of deoxy-xylulose pathway (terpenoid biosynthesis) [1]. [1]. 10694574. Biosynthesis of terpenoids: YgbB protein converts 4-diphosphocytidyl-2C-methyl-D-erythritol 2-phosphate to 2C-methyl-D-erythritol 2,4-cyclodiphosphate. bifunctional 2-C-methyl-D-erythritol 4-phosphate cytidylyltransferase IspD/2-C-methyl-D-erythritol 2,4-cyclodiphosphate synthase IspF

bifunctional 2-C-methyl-D-erythritol 4-phosphate cytidylyltransferase IspD/2-C-methyl-D-erythritol 2,4-cyclodiphosphate synthase IspF catalyzes the formation of 4-diphosphocytidyl-2-C-methyl-D-erythritol from CTP and 2-C-methyl-D-erythritol 4-phosphate (MEP) (IspD), as well as the conversion of 4-diphosphocytidyl-2-C-methyl-D-erythritol 2-phosphate (CDP-ME2P) to 2-C-methyl-D-erythritol 2,4-cyclodiphosphate (ME-CPP) with a corresponding release of cytidine 5-monophosphate (CMP) (IspF)
