homoserine O-acetyltransferase MetA
homoserine O-succinyltransferase MetA
Homoserine O-succinyltransferase (EC 2.3.1.46) and homoserine O-acetyltransferase (EC 2.3.1.31) perform similar steps in two different forms of the methionine biosynthesis pathway. Two unrelated enzyme families, named MetA and MetX, each contain a mix the two different activities. Members of this family are one clade of MetA-type enzymes with homoserine O-succinyltransferase activity.
homoserine O-acetyltransferase/O-succinyltransferase family protein
Members of this family include homoserine O-acetyltransferase (EC 2.3.1.31), homoserine O-succinyltransferase (EC 2.3.1.46), and serine acetyltransferase CysE (EC 2.3.1.30).
homoserine O-succinyltransferase
homoserine O-succinyltransferase catalyzes the first step in methionine biosynthesis by transferring a succinyl group from succinyl-CoA to homoserine
