pilus assembly protein TadG-related protein

This is an N-terminal domain on a family of putative Flp pilus-assembly proteins. The exact function is not known. The Flp-pilus biogenesis genes include the Tad genes, and some members of this family are putatively assigned as being TadG [1,2]. [1]. 11029439. Nonspecific adherence by Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans requires genes widespread in bacteria and archaea. Kachlany SC, Planet PJ, Bhattacharjee MK, Kollia E, DeSalle R, Fine DH, Figurski DH;. J Bacteriol. 2000;182:6169-6176. [2]. 17435791. The tad locus: postcards from the widespread colonization island. Tomich M, Planet PJ, Figurski DH;. Nat Rev Microbiol. 2007;5:363-375. (from Pfam)
