SpoIIE family protein phosphatase

This family contains a number of bacterial stage II sporulation E proteins (EC:3.1.3.16). These are required for formation of a normal polar septum during sporulation. The N-terminal region is hydrophobic and is expected to contain up to 12 membrane-spanning segments [1]. [1]. 8830262. Structure and function of the Bacillus SpoIIE protein and its localization to sites of sporulation septum assembly. PP2C family protein-serine/threonine phosphatase

PP2C family serine/threonine-protein phosphatase catalyzes the dephosphorylation of phosphoserine and phosphothreonine residues of specific protein substrates; similar to Bacillus subtilis phosphoserine phosphatase RsbU, a positive regulator of sigma-B activity; may contain a GAF domain
