ABC transporter permease EcsB
This HMM describes the permease subunit, EcsB, of the export ABC transporter EcsAB, as the term is used in the Staphylococcus. The model also includes proteins from the closely related genus Mammaliicoccus. The properties and substrates of EcsAB may differ substantially from that of the EcsAB transporter from Bacillus.
ABC transporter permease
This family consists of several bacterial ABC transporter proteins which are homologous to the EcsB protein of Bacillus subtilis. EcsB is thought to encode a hydrophobic protein with six membrane-spanning helices in a pattern found in other hydrophobic components of ABC transporters [1]. [1]. 8581172. Molecular analysis of an operon in Bacillus subtilis encoding a. novel ABC transporter with a role in exoprotein production,. sporulation and competence.. Leskela S, Kontinen VP, Sarvas M;. Microbiology 1996;142:71-77. (from Pfam)
ABC transporter permease similar to Bacillus subtilis EcsB, which is a membrane component of a novel ABC transporter with a role in exoprotein production, sporulation, and competence
