FTR1 family protein
iron uptake transporter permease EfeU
FTR1 family protein may function as an iron permease involved in high affinity iron transport; similar to Escherichia coli iron permease EfeU
EfeU/Ftr1 family ferrous iron transporter subunit
A characterized member from yeast acts as oxidase-coupled high affinity iron transporter. Note that the apparent member from E. coli K12-MG1655 has a frameshift by homology with member sequences from other species, but the ortholog from E. coli O157:H7 belongs to a functional EfeUOB complex for Fe2+ transport.
