CotD family spore coat protein
This family is conserved in the Enterobacteriaceae family. CotD is an inner spore coat protein that is expressed in the middle phase of mother cell gene expression. Along with CotD, CotH, CotS and CotT it is assumed to assemble into the loose skeleton of the matrix, between the shells of SpoIVA and CotE. Coat proteins do not share much sequence similarity between species, but this does not imply they do not share secondary, tertiary, or quaternary features [1]. [1]. 10066829.
