It also includes closely matching sequence from species not expected to make ECA, but which contain other genes for the biosynthesis of TDP-4-keto-6-deoxy-D-Glc, an intermediate in the biosynthesis of other compounds as well and the substrate of WecA. This family belongs to the DegT/DnrJ/EryC1/StrS aminotransferase family (PF01041).
