response regulator

This domain receives the signal from the sensor partner in bacterial two-component systems. It is usually found N-terminal to a DNA binding effector domain. [1]. 7699720. Response regulators of bacterial signal transduction systems: selective domain shuffling during evolution. Pao GM, Saier MH;. J Mol Evol 1995;40:136-154. (from Pfam)

response regulator transcription factor

two-component system response regulator transcription factor binds DNA upon phosphorylation and functions as transcriptional regulator, similar to regulatory protein PmrA, which is part of the two-component regulatory system PmrB/PmrA involved in regulation of virulence, and to BasR, which affects the transcription of the ugd, ais, arnBCADTEF and eptA-basRS loci, all involved in polymyxin resistance

8.

two-component system response regulator PmrA

PmrA (polymyxin resistance A) is a DNA-binding response regulator whose regulon includes lipopolysaccharide modification proteins that affect polymyxin resistance. The member of this family from Escherichia coli is often designated BasR.

Gene:
pmrA
Date:
2020-10-26
Family Accession:
NF007928.2
Method:
HMM
9.

two-component system response regulator BasR

The BasS-BasR two-component system controls a regulon that includes stress response and membrane structure modification proteins. BasR is an Escherichia coli-specific designation; the term PmrA (polymyxin resistance A) is used for orthologs from Salmonella enterica, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and related species, and is preferred by many authors for proteins from Escherichia coli as well.
