CopD family protein
Copper sequestering activity displayed by some bacteria is determined by copper-binding protein products of the copper resistance operon (cop). CopD, together with CopC, perform copper uptake into the cytoplasm [1]. [1]. 7917425. Molecular mechanisms of copper resistance and accumulation in bacteria. Cooksey DA;. FEMS Microbiol Rev 1994;14:381-386. (from Pfam)
copper homeostasis membrane protein CopD
CopD is an inner membrane protein encoded in Gram-negative bacterial systems that provide resistance to excess copper. It is typically chromosomal, although the PcoD protein of the plasmid-borne pco copper resistance system is a exceptional member of the CopD family.
