Rpn family recombination-promoting nuclease/putative transposase

The Rpn (Recombination-Promoting Nuclease) family includes YhgA, YadD, YfaD, and YfcI from Escherichia coli K-12, but also several paralogous families in Treponema denticola that are well enough conserved to suggest the proteins are transposases. Characterization of YhgA found magnesium-dependent, calcium-stimulated DNA endonuclease activity that promotes DNA incorporation, but stopped short of classifying YhgA as a transposase.
