type VI secretion system domain-containing protein
T6SS_VasJ is a family from Gram-negative bacteria that forms a component of the type VI pathogenic secretion system. In the case of the Escherichia coli RS218 strain UniProtKB:G8IRL4, EvfF,it represents expression of the full-length gene; whereas it is just the C-terminal part of EvfE, UniProtKB:G8IRL3. The N-terminal part of these sequences is in family ImpA_N, Pfam:PF06812 [1,2]. [1]. 182899. Fc receptor-mediated inhibition of murine B-lymphocyte activation. Ryan JL, Henkart PA;. J Exp Med. 1976;144:768-775. [2]. 22184413. Hcp family proteins secreted via the type VI secretion system coordinately regulate Escherichia coli K1 interaction with human brain microvascular endothelial cells. type VI secretion system protein TssA
This HMM describes one of two major forms of type VI secretion apparatus protein called TssA. The other form, similar primarily in the N-terminal region, is described by TIGR03363.
