L-rhamnose/proton symporter RhaT
This family consists of several bacterial L-rhamnose-proton symport protein (RhaT) sequences [1,2]. [1]. 1551902. Mapping, cloning, expression, and sequencing of the rhaT gene, which encodes a novel L-rhamnose-H+ transport protein in Salmonella typhimurium and Escherichia coli. Tate CG, Muiry JA, Henderson PJ;. RhaT/GlcU family sugar-proton symporter
Members of this family of sugar-proton symporters include the glucose uptake protein GlcU from Bacillus subutilis, the L-rhamnose-proton symporter RhaT from Escherichia coli, and the ribose transporter RbsU first described in Lactobacillus sakei.
