glycine/sarcosine/betaine reductase selenoprotein B family protein
This family represents a conserved region approximately 350 residues long within the selenoprotein B component of the bacterial glycine, sarcosine and betaine reductase complexes. [1]. 8529639. Purification and characterization of protein PB of betaine reductase and its relationship to the corresponding proteins glycine reductase and sarcosine reductase from Eubacterium acidaminophilum. Meyer M, Granderath K, Andreesen JR;. Eur J Biochem 1995;234:184-191. (from Pfam)
GrdB-related putative oxidoreductase
Members of this family are not selenoproteins, but are homologs to the N-terminal domain of GrdB, a selenoprotein subunit in the glycine reductase complex. Members of this family are found in a different context, not near other glycine reductase subunits.
glycine/betaine/sarcosine/D-proline family reductase selenoprotein B
This HMM represents selenoprotein B of glycine reductase, sarcosine reductase, betaine reductase, D-proline reductase, and perhaps others. This model is built in fragment mode to assist in recognizing fragmentary translations. All members are expected to contain an internal TGA codon, encoding selenocysteine, which may be misinterpreted as a stop codon.
