HalOD1 output domain-containing protein
HalOD1 (Halobacterial output domain 1) is called an output domain because it is found at some frequency in polypeptides that also contain a response regulator domain. However, it is more often found as a standalone domain in smaller proteins. Its taxonomic range appears restricted to haloarchaea and their viruses. Genomes encoding at least one of these encode, on average, ten or more paralogs.
