response regulator

This domain receives the signal from the sensor partner in bacterial two-component systems. It is usually found N-terminal to a DNA binding effector domain. [1]. 7699720. Response regulators of bacterial signal transduction systems: selective domain shuffling during evolution. Pao GM, Saier MH;. J Mol Evol 1995;40:136-154. (from Pfam)

copper/silver response regulator transcription factor

Characterized members of this family are response regulator transcription factors involved in resistance to copper and/or silver, and have been assigned gene symbols such as CusR and SilR

8.

response regulator transcription factor CusR

two-component system response regulator transcription factor CusR binds DNA upon phosphorylation and functions as transcriptional regulator as part of the CusS/CusR system that is involved in response to copper and silver

9.

heavy metal response regulator transcription factor

Members of this family contain a response regulator receiver domain (Pfam:PF00072) and an associated transcriptional regulatory region (Pfam:PF00486). This group is separated phylogenetically from related proteins with similar architecture and contains a number of proteins associated with heavy metal resistance efflux systems for copper, silver, cadmium, and/or zinc. Most members encoded by genes adjacent to genes for encoding a member of the heavy metal sensor histidine kinase family (TIGRFAMs:TIGR01386), its partner in the two-component response regulator system.

DNA binding (GO:0003677)

regulation of DNA-templated transcription (GO:0006355)

10.

copper/silver response regulator transcription factor SilR

The heavy metal response regulator SilR, a DNA-binding transcription factor, belongs to a two-component system with the sensor histidine kinase SilS. The pair is found in plasmids, frequently in a Copper Homeostasis and Silver Resistance Island (CHASRI) locus. Although most strains of Klebsiella remain sensitive to high levels of silver as used in the topical treatment of burns, a single amino acid mutation of the SilS partner results in clinical results in resistance. SilR is closely related to the chromosomal copper response regulator CusR, as found on the chromosome of E. coli K-12.
