GSPII protein E, N1E domain

GSPE is an ATPase component of the type II secretion system required for the energy-dependent secretion of extracellular factors such as proteases and toxins from the periplasm. This entry represents the N1E domain at its N-terminal end which associates with the cytoplasmic domain of the inner membrane protein GspL [1,2]. Paper describing PDB structure 2bh1. [1]. 15843017. type II secretion system ATPase GspE

This family describes GspE, the E protein of the type II secretion system, also called the main terminal branch of the general secretion pathway. This model separates GspE from the PilB protein of type IV pilin biosynthesis.
