DNA replication terminus site-binding protein

This family contains several bacterial Ter proteins. The Ter protein specifically binds to DNA replication terminus sites on the host and plasmid genome and then blocks progress of the DNA replication fork [1]. [1]. 2687269. Purification of a DNA replication terminus (ter) site-binding protein in Escherichia coli and identification of the structural gene. Hidaka M, Kobayashi T, Takenaka S, Takeya H, Horiuchi T;. J Biol Chem 1989;264:21031-21037. (from Pfam)
