Cyclic-di-AMP phosphodiesterase GdpP-like, PAS domain
This domain is found at the N-terminal region of Cyclic-di-AMP phosphodiesterase GdpP from Geobacillus thermodenitrificans. GdpP is a stress signaling protein with phosphodiesterase activity against cyclic-di-AMP (c-di-AMP). This protein contains three protein domains in addition to the two N-terminal transmembrane helices: a Per-ARNT-Sim (PAS) domain (this entry), a GGDEF domain, and a DHH/DHHA1 domain (Pfam:PF01368 and Pfam:PF02272). This domain adopts the typical alpha-beta-PAS domain fold formed by several short and distorted alpha-helices and one five-stranded antiparallel beta- sheet. Noticeably, three of the strands and one of the helices are shorter than those found in other typical PAS domains [1]. This domain is also found at the N-terminal of the membrane protein-large ribosomal subunit bL9 fusion protein from phytoplasma which have a large N-terminal domain structurally similar to this group of sequences, although not functionally related. DHH family phosphoesterase
It is predicted that this family of proteins all perform a phosphoesterase function. It included the single stranded DNA exonuclease RecJ. [1]. 9478130. A novel family of predicted phosphoesterases includes Drosophila prune protein and bacterial RecJ exonuclease. Aravind L, Koonin EV;. Trends Biochem Sci 1998;23:17-19. (from Pfam)
DHHA1 domain-containing protein
DHHA1 ( DHH-associated domain) is often found with DHH, and is suggested to have an RNA-binding function.
DHH family phosphoesterase such as Bacillus subtilis cyclic-di-AMP phosphodiesterase GdpP and Listeria monocytogenes cyclic-di-AMP phosphodiesterase PdeA
