TMEM165/GDT1 family protein
This family contains integral membrane proteins of unknown function. Most members of the family contain two copies of a region that contains an EXGD motif. Each of these regions contains three predicted transmembrane regions. It has been suggested that these proteins are calcium transporters [1]. [1]. 24955841. Molecular evolution of a novel family of putative calcium transporters. Demaegd D, Colinet AS, Deschamps A, Morsomme P;. PLoS One. 2014;9:e100851. (from Pfam)
TMEM165/GDT1 family protein similar to mammalian Golgi-localized transmembrane protein 165 (TMEM165) and its yeast ortholog, Gcr1 dependent translation factor 1 (Gdt1p), which are involved in calcium and pH homeostasis and might function as Ca(2+)/H(+) antiporters
