PD-(D/E)XK nuclease family transposase
Members of this family belong to the PD-(D/E)XK nuclease superfamily [1]. These proteins are transposase proteins. [1]. 15972856. Identification of novel restriction endonuclease-like fold families among hypothetical proteins. Kinch LN, Ginalski K, Rychlewski L, Grishin NV;. Nucleic Acids Res. 2005;33:3598-3605. (from Pfam)
Rpn family recombination-promoting nuclease/putative transposase
The Rpn (Recombination-Promoting Nuclease) family includes YhgA, YadD, YfaD, and YfcI from Escherichia coli K-12, but also several paralogous families in Treponema denticola that are well enough conserved to suggest the proteins are transposases. Characterization of YhgA found magnesium-dependent, calcium-stimulated DNA endonuclease activity that promotes DNA incorporation, but stopped short of classifying YhgA as a transposase.
Rpn family recombination-promoting nuclease/putative transposase belonging to the PD-(D/E)XK nuclease superfamily is associated with transposition, inversion, or recombination
