protein similar to protein PhnA
zinc ribbon domain-containing protein YjdM
The protein family includes an uncharacterized member designated phnA in Escherichia coli, part of a large operon associated with alkylphosphonate uptake and carbon-phosphorus bond cleavage, but lacking any demonstrable role in phosphonate utilization. This protein is unrelated to the characterized phosphonoacetate hydrolase designated PhnA by Kulakova, et al. and described by HMM TIGR02335.
