iron efflux ABC transporter permease subunit FetB

FetB (Fe Transport B) is one subunit of the iron efflux ABC transporter FetAB. FetA is the ATP-binding subunit and FetB is the permease subunit. Note that model originally was defined more broadly, with membership including a number of proteins distinct in function from FetB, but has now been narrowed. All members of the seed alignment occur in the Enterobacterales and are encoded next to FetA.

ABC transporter permease

Characterised proteins in this family include probable iron export permease protein FetB, which is part of the ABC transporter complex FetAB, probably involved in iron export [1], and aluminium sensitive 3 protein, also part of an ABC transporter required for aluminum (Al) resistance [2]. This family also includes integral membrane proteins currently uncharacterised. [1]. 24038693. ABC transporter permease

ABC transporter permease is the transmembrane subunit found in a periplasmic binding protein (PBP)-dependent ABC transport system, which may be involved in the transport of one or more from a variety of substrates including sugars, ions, amino acids, and peptides, among others
