Analysis of lung from M. tuberculosis (MT)-infected C57BL/6 mice treated with metformin (MET). The antidiabetic drug MET is an activating agent of adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK). Results provide insight into the potential use of MET as adjunct antituberculosis therapy.
