SRX5451190: RNA-Seq of USM-PSY62 after 0C for 24 hours
1 ILLUMINA (Illumina HiSeq 2000) run: 12.2M spots, 2.4G bases, 1.4Gb downloads

Design: The transcriptome sequencing of Rhodotorula sp. USM-PSY62 was performed using the strategy of paired-end sequencing technology. The assembly of the sequenced reads were performed without a reference genome. Therefore, a de Novo assembler, known as Trinity was utilized. In the case of paired-end sequencing with biological replicates, the reads including the replicates were concatenated into two files, combining all left and all right reads into single left.fq and right.fq files respectively.

Study: Transcriptomic response of an Antarctic yeast Rhodotorula sp. USM-PSY62 to temperature changes
show Abstracthide Abstract
The general aim of this study is to uncover how this psychrophilic yeast respond towards changes in its environmental temperatures by employing transcriptome sequencing (RNA-Seq) technique. The outcome of this study may provide further insights on ecophysiology, or the biochemistry of adaptation in eukaryotic organisms, as well as provide supporting data on potential climate change on organisms in extreme environments.
