SRX18029003: Illumina MiSeq paired end sequencing of C4606
1 ILLUMINA (Illumina MiSeq) run: 1.3M spots, 661.2M bases, 287.4Mb downloads

Design: Genomic DNA was extracted using the DNeasy Blood and Tissue kit (Qiagen, Hilden, DE) and quantified using a Qubit 2.0 fluorometer (Thermo Scientific, Waltham, USA). Libraries were prepared using the Nextera XT DNA Library Preparation (Illumina Inc., CA, USA) and barcoded using IDT Nextera DNA Unique Dual Indexes Set C (Illumina, CA, USA). Sequencing (WGS) was performed using the Illumina MiSeq platform (Illumina, CA, United States) in paired-end mode to obtain 2 x 250 bp reads with MiSeq Reagent Kit v2 and v3 (Illumina, San Diego, USA).

Study: Diversity of Carbapenemases in Pseudomonas putida group species from Brazilian Hospitals
show Abstracthide Abstract
Bacteria belonging to Pseudomonas putida (PpG) group, despite being present in different environments, are rarely involved in human infections. However, isolates belonging to this group can act as reservoirs of antimicrobial resistance determinants, which can be transferred by mobile genetic elements (MGEs) to pathogens of animals and humans. The presence of multidrug-resistant strains (MDR) of PpG in the hospital environment has become increasingly frequent. However, most studies have been carried out in Europe and Asia, and little is known about its relevance in the current Brazilian scenario, especially with regard to the acquisition of resistance determinants. Recent findings, however, suggest that PpG isolates may acquire resistance determinants from other microorganisms, as well as contribute to their dissemination. Herein, we aimed to characterize the mechanisms of carbapenem resistance among PpG clinical isolates.
