show Abstracthide AbstractThe study aimed to generate guard cell-specific RNA-seq transcriptomes in Arabidopsis thaliana during progressive drought stress and rewatering, while optimizing the INTACT protocol for RNA preservation in leaf tissue. By comparing gene expression changes between guard cells and bulk leaf tissue, this research enhances our understanding of guard cell-specific responses to drought, identifies unique and shared expression patterns, and provides valuable transcriptomic data that can inform strategies for improving drought tolerance and water use efficiency in crops.
