Design: A single colony of A. pittii was picked from an agar plate and grown overnight in LB broth. Total DNA was extracted using the Qiagen MagAttract kit. DNA was quantified and diluted for library preparation and whole genome sequencing using Nextera XT chemistry and Illumina MiSeq paired-end read technology.

We sought to investigate the epidemiology of carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter pittii that were isolated throughout Germany 2010-2014. As a comparator set of strains, we used susceptible isolates that were collected 1990-1992.
