show Abstracthide AbstractNatural products are a diverse group of metabolites with a wealth of different bioactivities. The leaf microbiota has not been systematically studied with regard to antibiotic and natural product production. Here, we examined the potential of natural product formation in the bacterial At-LSPHERE (Bai et al. Nature 2015 528:364-369) culture collection, containing 224 isolates from Arabidopsis thaliana leaves, using a combination of bioactivity assays, genome mining and MALDI imaging, followed by natural product isolation. Draft genomes of 206 isolates had previously been available. Here, we provide new genome information for two strains, Brevibacillus sp. Leaf182 that was already sequenced before and Pseudomonas sp. Leaf98 for which no prior genome data has been available.
