Mouse feces were collected at different time points during the entire experiment and stored at -80 °C before extraction. Stool genomic DNA was extracted using the QIAamp PowerFecal DNA Kit (QIAGEN) and analyzed by bacterial tag-encoded 16S rDNA amplicon pyrosequencing (Beijing Genomics Institute, Shenzhen, China) according to standard protocols. The qualified raw sequences were sent to paired-end reads merging to tags using Fast Length Adjustment of Short reads, v1.2.11 (FLASH). The tags were clustered to OTUs at 97% sequence similarity using USEARCH (v7.0.1090) and UPARSE.
