A number of sequences scoring higher than trusted to this model are found in different genomic contexts, and the possibility exist that these transport related compounds in addition to or instead of xanthine itself. The outgroup to this family are sequences which are characterized as uracil permeases or are adjacent to established uracil phosphoribosyltransferases.
