KdpD-like non-kinase potassium sensor
Members of this family contain the N-terminal sensor region, but lack the C-terminal histidine kinase region, of the sensor histidine kinase KdpD found broadly in species such as Escherichia coli, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Clostridium acetobutylicum, and Staphylococcus aureus. Members are found in Bacillus anthracis and related species. KdpDN resembles contains the N-terminal sensor region of KdpD but lacks the C-terminal histidine kinase region.
