SAS053 family protein This small protein of Staphylococcus, Macrococcus, and Mammaliicoccus occurs in a conserved gene neighborhood, downstream of a larger uncharacterized protein distantly related to glucosamine-6-phosphate deaminases. The function is unknown, but its gene is known to be translated into protein. The family is named for founding protein SAS053 from Staphylococcus aureus subsp. aureus N315. |
