The founding member of this family, STY4528 from Salmonella pathogenicity island 7 (SPI-7) of Salmonella typhi, belongs to the core set of proteins of SPI-7-related conjugative elements, and is assigned to the replication region. Members include a protein designated Api5 from the Yersinia pseudotuberculosis adhesion pathogenicity island (YAPI).
