Global gene expression analysis of quercetin bioactivity in cultured rat cardiomyocytes

(Submitter supplied) Despite extensive studies, the fundamental mechanisms responsible for the development and progression of heart failure have not yet been fully elucidated. Recent experimental and clinical studies have suggested that reactive oxygen species (ROS) play a major pathological role. Quercetin, a major flavonoid present in the human diet, has been studied widely and its biological properties are consistent with its protective role in the cardiovascular system. more...

Quercetin effect on cultured cardiomyocytes: time course

Analysis of cultured cardiomyocytes treated for up to 24 hours with the flavonoid quercetin. Consumption of food rich in quercetin is correlated with a decreased incidence of heart disease. Results provide insight into the molecular mechanisms underlying the cardioprotective effects of quercetin.

Agilent-011868 Rat Oligo Microarray G4130A (Feature Number version)

(Submitter supplied) This microarray contains representative sequences derived from rat RefSeq, high-quality public rat mRNA accessions, homologs to human and mouse RefSeq, EST clusters determined by a leading biopharmaceutical company and the Incyte Zooseq database as well as toxicology markers determined by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) and others. Many of the toxicology markers used in the design of this microarray were released to the public domain for the first time and will be used on this unique microarray product. more...
