Gene expression profiling of grape-bud response to two alternative dormancy-release stimuli.

(Submitter supplied) A grape-bud-oriented genomic platform was produced for a large-scale comparative analysis of bud responses to two stimuli of grape-bud dormancy release, hydrogen cyanamide (HC) and heat shock (HS). The results suggested considerable similarity in bud response to the stimuli, both in the repertoire of responding genes and in the temporary nature of the transcriptome reprogramming. Nevertheless, the bud response to HC was slower, more condensed and stronger, as reflected by a higher number of regulated genes and a higher intensity of regulation compared to the response to HS.

A deep insight about the role of hydrogen cynamide in grape bud dormancy release by comparative transcriptomic and proteomic analysis

(Submitter supplied) Hydrogen cyanamide (HC) is an agrochemical compound frequently used to break bud dormancy in grapevine grown under mild winter conditions all over the world. The present study was carried out to get a better understanding of the molecular mechanism associated with HC to release bud dormancy in grapevine using RNA-seq based transcriptomic and tandem mass tag (TMT) based proteomic analysis.

Transcriptomic analysis of CV. ‘Shine Muscat’ (Vitis vinifera L.) buds during dormant and non dormant period

(Submitter supplied) We used Illumina RNA-Seq technology to carry out digital gene expression profiling of Dormant and non dormant buds of Shine Muscat Cultivar.127 pathways were annotated by Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis, and metabolic, biosynthesis of secondry metabolite and. Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis demonstrated that DEGs were involved in various metabolic processes, including phytohormone metabolism. more...

A hydrogen cyanamide-responsive transcriptome of sweet cherry flower buds from endodormancy to flowering

(Submitter supplied) Perennial plants, like fruit trees grown in temperate regions, are characterized by bud dormancy, a rest state that protects the bud from cold during winter. At the same time, these plants have developed a requirement for winter chill for correct flowering. However, winters are becoming increasingly warm in temperate regions, resulting in dramatic effects on the flowering output and therefore crop yield. more...

Integrated omics analysis reveals the norisoprenoid responses in Vitis vinifera L. cv. Cabernet Sauvignon berries to abscisic acid and synthetic auxin

(Submitter supplied) The abscisic acid (ABA) increase and auxin decline are both indicators of ripening initiation in grape berry, and norisoprenoid accumulation also start at around the onset of ripening. To investigate the transcriptional and posttranscriptional regulation of the ABA and synthetic auxin 1-naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA) on norisoprenoid production, we performed time series GC-MS and RNA-seq analyses on Cabernet Sauvignon grape berries from pre-veraison to ripening. more...

Trancriptomic analysis of flower bud dormancy in sweet cherry

(Submitter supplied) Bud dormancy is a crucial stage in perennial trees and allows survival over winter and optimal subsequent flowering and fruit production. Environmental conditions, and in particular temperature, have been shown to influence bud dormancy. Recent work highlighted some physiological and molecular events happening during bud dormancy in trees. However, we still lack a global understanding of transcriptional changes happening during bud dormancy. more...

Extensive transcriptome changes during vegetative bud dormancy in Populus

(Submitter supplied) We investigated differential gene expression patterns in Populus vegetative buds between paradormant, endodormant, and ecodormant dormancy states. Our primary objectives were to (1) identify which individual genes, biological processes, molecular functions, and regulatory pathways were differentially expressed among dormancy states, (2) classify the differentially expressed genes into contrasting gene expression patterns, and (3) identify cis-acting elements associated with each gene expression group. more...

Grape_Bud_Dormancy

(Submitter supplied) Bud endodormancy induction response of two genotypes (‘Seyval’ a hybrid white wine grape and V. riparia, PI588259 a native north american species) was compared under long and short photoperiod. Three separate replicates (5 plants/replicate) were treated in each of 2 separate years (2007 and 2008) to generate paradormant (LD) and same aged endodormancy-induced (SD) buds for transcriptomic, proteomic and metabolomic analysis. more...
