Affymetrix SNP array data for recurrent deletion in 19p in DLBCLs and BLs

(Submitter supplied) A single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP)-chip analysis of 98 cases of aggressive B-cell lymphomas revealed a recurrent deletion at 19p13 in 9 of the cases. Six further cases with deletions encompassing this region were found in array-comparative genomic hybridization data of 295 aggressive B-cell lymphomas from a previous study. Three cases even showed a homozygous deletion, suggesting a tumor suppressor gene in the deleted region. more...

HGU133A expression array data for diffuse large B cell lymphoma samples

(Submitter supplied) The pathogenesis of diffuse large B cell lymphomas (DLBCL) is only partly understood. We analyzed 148 DLBCL by high resolution single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP)-chips to characterize genomic imbalances. Seventy-nine cases were of the germinal center B-cell like (GCB) type of DLBCL, 49 of the activated B-cell like (ABC) subtype and 20 were type 3 DLBCL. Twenty-four regions of recurrent genomic gains and 38 regions of recurrent genomic losses were identified over the whole cohort, with a median of 25 imbalances per case for ABC-DLBCL and 19 per case for GCB-DLBCL. more...

A Biologic Definition of Burkitt's Lymphoma from Transcriptional and Genomic Profiling

(Submitter supplied) The distinction between the Burkitt lymphoma and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is imprecise using current diagnostic criteria. We applied transcriptional and genomic profiling to molecularly define Burkitt lymphoma. Gene expression profiling employing Affymetrix GeneChips (U133A) was performed in 220 mature aggressive B-cell lymphomas, including a core group of eight Burkitt lymphomas, which fulfilled all diagnostic criteria of the WHO classification. more...

Comparative whole genome profiling of post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorders and diffuse large B-cell lymphomas.

(Submitter supplied) Post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorders (PTLD) are a major complication of solid organ transplantation and represent a cause of severe morbidity and mortality among transplanted patients. Apart from EBV infection, knowledge of the pathogenesis of monoclonal PTLD is limited. Powerful analysis techniques, such as whole genomic DNA profiling (arrayCGH), can improve our understanding of PTLD pathogenesis. more...

INTEGRATIVE ONCOGENOMIC AND HIGH-THROUGHPUT SEQUENCING ANALYSES OF THE COMMONLY DELETED REGION IN CHROMOSOME 7q32 IN SPLENIC MARGINAL ZONE LYMPHOMA (CGH)

(Submitter supplied) Using high-resolution genomic microarray analysis, a distinct genomic profile was defined in 114 samples from patients with splenic marginal zone lymphoma (SMZL). Notably, deletion or uniparental disomy of chromosome 7q were detected in 39% of SMZLs but in only 9 of 170 (5%) mature B-cell lymphomas (p<10-6). The presence of unmutated IgVH genes, genomic complexity, 17p13-P53 deletion and 8q gain including MYC gene, but not 7q deletion, were correlated with shorter overall survival. more...

Molecular Classification of AIDS-Related Lymphomas [including third-party data]

(Submitter supplied) Gene expression profiling (GEP) of ARL patient samples was done to determine whether gene expression signatures derived from HIV- lymphomas retained their ability to molecularly classify HIV+ lymphomas. The GEP-based predictors robustly classified ARL tumors, distinguishing molecular Burkitt lymphoma (BL) and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), as well as activated B-cell-like (ABC) and germinal center B-cell-like (GCB) molecular subtypes of DLBCL. more...

AIDS-related lymphomas

Analysis of tumors from HIV+ male patients with AIDS-related lymphomas (ARL). HIV+ individuals have an increased risk of developing an aggressive B-cell Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma relative to HIV- persons. Results identify a signature for ARL subtypes and provide insight into pathogenetic events in ARL.
