Profiling mRNA transcriptomic changes using Affymetrix Clarion D assay in 6 regions of postmortem brains of subjects with alcohol use disorder

(Submitter supplied) Chronic alcohol consumption may alter mRNA transcriptomic changes in reward-related brain regions, leading to neuroadaptations and thus increased risk of AUD. We used the Affymetrix Clariom™ D Assay Array to map mRNA transcriptome profiles in six reward-related regions of postmortem brains of AUD and control subjects and identified differentially expressed mRNAs.

Profiling miRNA transcriptomic changes using Affymetrix miRNA4.0 in 6 regions of postmortem brains of subjects with alcohol use disorder

(Submitter supplied) Chronic alcohol consumption may alter miRNA transcriptome profiles in reward-related brain regions. Given that miRNAs can regulate the expression of their target coding genes (or mRNAs) at the post-transcriptional level, alcohol-induced miRNA expression change may influence the expression of their targets mRNAs that are involved in alcohol use disorder (AUD)-related pathways, leading to increased risk of AUD. more...

Gene (mRNA) expression profiling in frontal cortex of ethanol-treated mice

(Submitter supplied) Analysis of early stages of alcohol dependence at the gene expression level. The hypothesis tested in the present study was that ethanol-treatment impact gene expression in a mouse model of high ethanol consumption. Results provide important information of genes and pathways being affected by ethanol actions in the mouse frontal cortex.

Profiling Transcriptomic Alterations in Postmortem Prefrontal Cortex Tissues of Individuals with Alcohol Use Disorders

(Submitter supplied) Analysis of transcriptiomic alternations related with alcohol use disorders (AUDs). The hypothesis is that chronic alcohol consumption might alter genome-wide gene expression patterns. The results suggest that differential gene expression in the prefrontal cortex is implicated in neuroadaptations to alcohol.

Comprehensive identification of RNA transcripts and construction of RNA networks in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

(Submitter supplied) Here, we report a comprehensive analysis of dysregulated mRNAs, lncRNAs, miRNAs and circRNAs in peripheral blood of COPD patients with high-throughput RNA sequencing. We mapped about 50~80 million sequence reads per sample to the human genome. GSEA analysis showed that these dysregulated RNAs correlate with several critical biological processes such as RNA modification, and RNA metabolism. RT-qPCR (SYBR Green assays) with more clinical COPD samples were used for the validation of some dysregulated RNAs. more...

Identifying microRNA-mRNA regulatory networks in colorectal cancer by a combination of expression profile and bioinformatics analysis

(Submitter supplied) A multi-step approach combining microarray profile and bioinformatics analysis was adopted to identify the CRC specific miRNA-mRNA regulatory network. First, differentially expressed miRNAs and mRNAs were found out in CRC samples compared with normal epithelial tissues by miRNA and mRNA microarray respectively. Secondly the target mRNAs of dysregualted miRNA were identified by a combination of Pearson correlation coefficient between the expression level of miRNAs and mRNAs and online miRNA target predicting databases. more...
