Effect of endothelial-specific endorepellin expression on gene expression of breast cancer allografts in Tie2CreER;ERKi mice

(Submitter supplied) To explore the translational implications of endorepellin in breast cancer, we created a double transgenic, inducible Tie2CreER;ERKi mouse line that expresses recombinant endorepellin specifically from the endothelium. We investigated the therapeutic effects of recombinant endorepellin overexpression in an orthotopic, syngeneic breast cancer allograft mouse model. Tamoxifen-induced expression of recombinant endorepellin specifically from the endothelium in Tie2CreER;ERKi mice markedly suppressed breast cancer allograft growth, hyaluronan deposition in the tumor proper and perivascular tissues, and tumor angiogenesis.

TLR4 or CD44 deficiency effect on hepatic stellate cells

(Submitter supplied) Analysis of hepatic stellate cells isoltaed from wild-type, TLR4-/-, and CD44-/- mice. TLR4 and CD44 are major hyaluronic acid receptors. Results provide insight into the effects of TLR4 and CD44 loss in hepatic stellate cells.

Hyaluronic Acid Synthase-2 (HAS2) overexpression and deficiency effect on hepatic stellate cells

(Submitter supplied) Analysis of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) isoltaed from ASMA-HAS2 transgenic and HSC-specific Has2 knockout mice. HAS2 synthesized hyaluronic acid, one of major extracellular matrix. Results provide insight into the role of HAS2 in hepatic stellate cells.

Transcriptional changes associated with overexpression of TBX3 isoforms (TBX3iso1 and TBX3iso2) in the DCIS-like 21NT cell line (RNA-Seq)

(Submitter supplied) Purpose: The acquisition of cellular invasiveness of breast epithelial cells and subsequent transition from ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) to invasive breast cancer is a critical step in breast cancer progression. Very little is known about the molecular dynamics governing this transition. We have previously shown that overexpression of the transcriptional regulator TBX3 in DCIS-like 21NT cells results in increased survival, growth, and invasiveness. more...

Expression profiles of CD24-/CD44+/ESA+ population in MDA-MB-231 and its highly metastatic variants.

(Submitter supplied) Breast cancer is a curable disease if it is diagnosed at an early stage. However, only little options are left once the tumor is metastasized to distant organs, and more than 90% of breast cancer death is attributed to metastatic disease. The process of metastasis is highly complex and involves many steps for successful colonization of tumor cells at a target organ. According to the cancer stem cell (CSC) theory, which still remains a hypothesis, these metastatic cells must have stem cell-like capability for their self-renewal in addition to their invasive ability. more...

Cancer stem cell population in highly metastatic variants of MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cell line

Analysis of CD24-/CD44+/ESA+ cancer stem cells from MDA-MB-231 breast cancer (BC) cell line and its highly metastatic variants 231BoM-1833 and 231BrM-2a. The majority of BC deaths are attributed to metastatic disease. Results provide insight into the molecular basis of metastatic progression.
