Title Gene expression-profiling to predict distant metastasis in locoregionally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma
Organism Homo sapiens
Experiment type Expression profiling by array
Summary Gene expression patterns can be used as prognostic biomarkers in various types of cancer. We aimed to identify a gene expression pattern for individual distant metastatic risk assessment in patients with locoregionally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (LA-NPC).

Overall design Using Affymetrix Human Gene 2.0 ST GeneChips, we profiled the gene expression between 24 LA-NPC tumor tissues with distant metastasis after radical treatment and 24 LA-NPC tumor tissues without distant metastasis after radical treatment to identify distant metastasis-related genes.
