Title Multifactorial role of mitochondria in echinocandin tolerance revealed by transcriptome analysis of drug-tolerant cells
Organism Nakaseomyces glabratus
Experiment type Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
Summary This study compared the transcriptional response of Candida glabrata echinocandin tolerant cells relative to no treated controls.

Overall design We cultured C. glabrata in YPD containing 0.06 µg/ml micafungin or 0.25 µg/ml caspofungin for 24 hours, harvested the cells, used fluorescence-activated cell sorting to enrich for echinocandin-tolerant cells, followed by modified single cell RNA sequencing at the Columbia University Genome Center. Untreated stationary or logarithmic phase cells were used as controls.
